Whether you’re experiencing burn injuries because of your severe car crash or because you came into contact with chemicals at work, these injuries are some of the most traumatic. The scarring, the trauma, and the emotional stress don’t go away easily.
At Schlapprizzi Attorneys at Law, we fight for compensation for people who have been wrongfully burned, but we know that help and support of a lawyer are not all that you need. Relying on your family is one thing, but this is the time to seek an incredible amount of support.

Burns Recovered Support Group (BRSG)
It began in 1983 when a group of burn survivors sought assistance from the Mercy Burn Center, and now it is an organization that helps burn victims by giving support during the prolonged recovery.
It is comprised of a team of individuals who are in corporate, public, medical, and fire safety positions, but they all come together with one purpose: To support burn survivors in their recovery, to assist medical facilities as they care for burns, and to reach out to the community and educate them on burn injuries.
From the initial trauma, through the recovery, the team helps people make the painful transition from burn victim to burn survivor.
Below are a few of the support services that they offer:
- Peer support: Seek support and guidance from people who are going through the same thing you are. Meet peers at the monthly group meetings. These meetings are open to anyone who is a burn survivor or anyone who has an interest in learning more about burn recovery.
- Work or school re-entry: Sometimes the hardest part of recovery comes at the end. Returning to your normal life isn’t as easy as it seems. The team provides support and help through this adjustment period.
